Galatians

我說那承受產業的，雖然是全業的主人，但為孩童的時候，卻與奴僕毫無分別，

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

乃在師傅和管家的手下，直等他父親預定的時候來到。

But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

我們為孩童的時候，受管於世俗小學之下，也是如此。

Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

及至時候滿足，神就差遣他的兒子，為女子所生，且生在律法以下，

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

要把律法以下的人贖出來，叫我們得著兒子的名分。

To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

你們既為兒子，神就差他兒子的靈進入你們（原文作：我們）心裡，呼叫「阿爸！父！」

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

可見，從此以後你不是奴僕，乃是兒子了；既是兒子，就靠著神為後嗣。

Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

但從前你們不認識神的時候，是給那些本來不是神的作奴僕；

Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.

現在你們既然認識神，更可說是被神所認識的，怎麼還要歸回那懦弱無用的小學，情願再給他作奴僕呢？

But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

你們謹守日子、月分、節期、年分；

Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

我為你們害怕，惟恐我在你們身上是枉費了工夫。

I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

弟兄們，我勸你們要像我一樣，因為我也像你們一樣。你們一點沒有虧負我。

Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not injured me at all.

你們知道我頭一次傳福音給你們，是因為身體有疾病；

Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

你們為我身體的緣故受了試煉，沒有輕看我，也沒有厭棄我，反倒接待我，如同接待神的使者，如同接待基督耶穌。

And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.

你們當日所誇的福氣在哪裡呢？那時你們若能行，就是把自己的眼睛剜出來給我，也是願意的；這我可以給你們作見證。

Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.

如今我將真理告訴你們，就成了你們的仇敵嗎？

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

那些人熱心待你們，卻不是好意，是要離間你們，叫你們熱心待他們。

They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.

在善事上常用熱心是好的，不獨是我在你們那裡的時候（才這樣）；

But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

我小子啊，我為你們再受生產之苦，直等到基督成形在你們心裡。

My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

我巴不得現在在你們那裡，並且改換口氣，因為我為你們心裡作難。

I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

請告訴我，你們這願意在律法以下的人，你們沒有聽見律法嗎？

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

因為律法上記著，亞伯拉罕有兩個兒子，一個是使女生的，一個是自由婦人生的。

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

然而，那使女所生的，是按著血氣生的；那自由婦人所生的，是憑著應許生的。

But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

這都是比方：那兩個婦人就是兩約；一約是出於西奈山，生子為奴，乃是夏甲。

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

這夏甲二字是指著阿拉伯的西奈山，與現在的耶路撒冷同類，因為耶路撒冷和她的兒女都是為奴的。

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

但那在上的耶路撒冷是自由的，她是我們的母。

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

因為經上記著：「不懷孕、不生產的，你當歡樂；未曾經過生產之苦的，你當高聲歡呼；因為那孤獨婦人的兒女，比有夫之婦的兒女還多。」

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

弟兄們，我們是憑著應許作兒女的，如同以撒一樣。

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

當時，那按著血氣生的，逼迫了那按著聖靈生的；現在也是這樣。

But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

然而經上是怎麼說的呢？他說：「把使女和她兒子趕出去，因為使女的兒子不可與自由婦人的兒子一同承受產業。」

Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

這樣看來，弟兄們，我們不是使女的兒女，乃是自由婦人的兒女了。

So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
