（上行之詩。）坐在天上的主啊，我向你舉目。

[A Song of degrees.] Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

看哪，僕人的眼睛怎樣望主人的手，使女的眼睛怎樣望主母的手，我們的眼睛也照樣望耶和華─我們的神，直到他憐憫我們。

Behold, as the eyes of servants {look} unto the hand of their masters, {and} as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes {wait} upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

耶和華啊，求你憐憫我們，憐憫我們！因為我們被藐視，已到極處。

Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

我們被那些安逸人的譏誚和驕傲人的藐視，已到極處。

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, {and} with the contempt of the proud.
